100% North American Maple HVX™

DW’s horizontal, vertical and diagonal grain orientation creates a lower, punchy fundamental while retaining the musical warmth and resonance of maple.

HOW WILL THIS SOUND?
Warm maple tone. A focused, powerful voice.

The HVX™ layup is designed to emphasize the drum’s low fundamental without losing clarity. Expect a full, warm sound, a defined initial attack, strong projection and musical sustain. The response can be controlled and punchy at lower tunings, or more open and resonant when tuned up.

Construction details: 100% maple plies; horizontally, vertically and diagonally oriented grain. DW lists 45° bearing edges for toms and 60° edges for bass and snare drums. Heads, tuning, room and playing technique also shape the final sound.
